APPLE CIDER and PEAR CIDER

CIDER BASICS

CIDER is pressed fresh every week at Hugus Fruit Farm in our state inspected facility on our rack-and-cloth cider press.  We usually begin in early September and press every week as long as we have apples, usually through January.


Our cider is treated with ultraviolet light, one of only two currently FDA approved processes for cider making.  Unlike heat pasteurization, the UV process maintains the nutrition and fresh flavor of cider.  No sugar is added to our cider.

PURCHASING CIDER

Hugus Fruit Farm Cider may be purchased in the following ways:

  • Retail at Hugus Fruit Farm by the gallon, half gallon or quart.
  • Wholesale at Hugus Fruit Farm,  20 gallon minimum purchase -- Call ahead for large quantities.
  • Retail at various other Ohio locations  (see Stores page).

CIDER from Hugus Fruit Farm is a fresh fruit juice and MUST BE KEPT REFRIGERATED!

CUSTOM PRESSING

Hugus Fruit Farm will custom press apples and/or pears for other commercial and backyard growers BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
